About

I’m Ninjin, a coder that loves technical art.

I started learning gamedev with a heavy focus in Unreal Engine back in 2015 when it became free. I participated in countless Gamejams and had the opportunity to work on a Bachelor Thesis about a cooperative VR game. Back in the days I also helped other developers on the Unreal Engine Answerhub.

I worked as a programmer at Limbic Entertainment, where I coded gameplay for an announced game. Then I switched to Park Beyond, where I spent most my time on a rollercoaster creation tool.

Personal

My favorite game is Dark Souls 3. Compared to modern AAA games it has less dialogues, less cinematics and less character abilities (less UI clutter). It simple throws you into a world and it has a perfect balance of gameplay and narration. Sekiro comes very close on 2nd favorite game. The combat is even better. However, to get all endings, you have to be even more careful when choosing dialogue options, that’s why I even paused playing the game and somehow managed to not get back to it.

I played handball for 10+ years and also love basketball.

Since I got a japanese nickname you guessed right, I watch anime, but usually only the ones that are popular. My favorite anime is definitely Steins;Gate. It’s very thoughtful and episode 23 is just a masterpiece. JoJo Part 5 was also really cool. The show in general is hilarious and I enjoy thinking about the abilities of the characters (Stands) when they fight each other. HunterxHunter is another really good anime. Especially Kurapika’s commitment and sacrifices to accomplish his revenge is unreal.
